Neckin'
Winter clothing is the absolute last thing I want to think about on an unseasonably warm day today (WTF Mother Nature?!). But for no reason whatsoever, my curiosity has piqued at the idea of turtlenecks. Bottom line, I just want to start the conversation - I want to hear what your take on turtlenecks are. Do you wear them? What the hell do you do with the neck? Do you leave it high, fold, roll, scrunch? What about mocks, will you even go there?
Me, I'm on the fence about them. When styled right, they look quite dashing. I wore one for one of my Halloween costumes this year and didn't mind it too much - they are functional (read: warm). But they can be grossly frumpy and not cute. Admittedly, I've had a few of those "not cute" turtlenecks now that I think back to the beginning of college. Maybe it's some sort of adverse reaction to poor sartorial choices made in college, but I don't know if I'm game for turtlenecks yet, maybe ever. Not to say I don't appreciate someone else pulling it off well.
Thoughts...
up until about 5 or 6 years ago, i was a total turtleneck junkie. i have photographic proof. (including--but not limited to--my FLORIDA driver's license.) i wasn't chic about it, either. prepster all the way. banana republic cashmere was a fav, french connection, too; but my holy grail of turtlenecks was a versace cream and lilac graphic-textured-extremely-hard-to-describe turtleneck my pops picked up for me in toronto while on business. either he had a really cool sales associate doing his dirty work, or he was exhibiting his truly impressive sweater-shopping prowess that day.

I don't know why there is such a taboo with turtle necks... I love them!

I love a cowl neck~ so chic! Or a really tight turtleneck with wide leg trousers.
