Going Greek

Greek_goddess
Maybe it's my Greek name, maybe it's the fact that I just watched Gladiator, or maybe...there's something in the air...I thought my fashion whim was original (though I know the Grecian theme is one that reoccurs fairly regularly in fashion) and then Liana pointed out the Greek Goddess spread in this months W magazine.  I just want you all to know, (rather sadly) that I started this post before that issue arrived!  What follows after the jump is basically, what I want now, and it all just happens to have a little goddess in it...I'm sorry I have been MIA.  This summer is quickly escaping us, and soon we can talk about my very favorite thing: fall fashion!!!

The Best Of The Best Of Boston

Dscn1626After riding a trolley around South Boston for 15 minutes, we found ourselves at last night's party for Boston Magazine's Best of Boston issue at the Conley Terminal. A huge turnout and goregous weather on the waterfront made the party well worth the trolley ride (some people ended up on school buses as shuttles).

Click the link to our photo album below for some of the best looks of the night that we were able to capture on camera.

Some things we missed: a handsome man wearing a straw hat and Hush Puppies talking to an older gentleman wearing a brown suit with pinstripes, a green assymetrical ruffle dress from Lanvin, another assymetrical dress with feathers on the shoulder, a simple black strapless maxi dress, beautiful jewelry from India paired with summer braids and a supercool short brimmed hat of some sort.

"Woah, Nana!"

Dscn1601That was the response Lauryn had when I pointed out an unfortunate pair of shoes at the Best of Boston party. While "don't waste the pretty" was another zinger she had for goregous women in not-so-goregous ensembles, "Woah, Nana!" was on point with some pieces that were too "mature" for some of Boston's young ladies. There could have been many, many more - but unlike most of this city that is full of haters, we try to bring the postive. That and my ninja photo skills aren't so good when I have to use a flash. Some of these moments after the jump...

Getting Glam

Dscn1576_2Over the weekend, we - Liana, Callista & Lauryn - got to experience life on the other side of the camera. We headed to hair & makeup genius Mariolga's
house to get some shots by Kim Kennedy for the site and press materials. When the pics are up, you would never guess that we set up shop in Mari's driveway. A quick behind the scenes look after the jump.
