The Urban Hound Presents Mascots: Norman At Looc
To help celebrate the opening of their new luxury pet hotel next month, The Urban Hound has teamed up with NB to feature the canine best friends of some of the city's style arbiters.
Norman (his owner says it's "the perfect name for a big, slow, completely lovable dog" and we couldn't agree more) is a 4 year-old American mastif who calls Looc in the South End his second home. His 200 lb frame may be intimidating, but Norman is just a sweet boy who loves to greet customers and mingle with the other neighborhood dogs. He'll walk you around the store and if you're lucky, give you a slobbery kiss on your way out. Norman enjoys sprawling out in front of Looc's jewelry display and taking up as much room as possible while his mom, Looc's owner, Audra Boyle, is busy at work. While his tastes veer more towards rawhides, tennis balls, soccer balls and Polka Dog Bakery than Nili Lotan, Etoile Isabel Marant, Lerario Beatriz and Lizzie Fortunato necklaces, Norman really does embody the easy, laid back approach to life that Looc inspires.
While Audra can't always bring Norman in to work, they both look forward to visiting The Urban Hound Hotel for daycare. There, Norman will be able to play with big dogs his own size (or close enough, he is one of the bigger breeds around) from 9:30am to 4:30pm and get some "Norman time" if he shows up a little early or has to stay later. He can even get a walk or some snuggle time if he needs it (available at an additional charge), because sometimes we all need a hug... or a long walk.
