Liberty Of London Target Collection

I have always been a fan of Liberty of London. Admittedly, I'm a sucker for a good floral- who can blame me? And the prints for the Liberty collection for Target did not disappoint. On this hideous rainy day, walking into the South Bay Target and being greeted by vibrant hues and bold prints was thrilling. I quickly grabbed the maxi dress I had been eyeing from the commercials (blue and green peacock feather print), a pink/orange floral structured dress, one pleated number, and a more casual looking, pastel color dress. I contemplated trying on some of the bathing suits (which were absolutely adorable), but this pale, winter body + bad neon lighting would not have been a good combo.

I went for the maxi dress first. The cut on the bottom of the dress was beautiful; the a-symmetrical layers of the sheer fabric fell perfectly. At 5'8, I sometimes find it difficult to find a maxi dress that isn't too short to wear with heels, but this one was just right. It was a little low cut, but nothing I couldn't deal with and the buttons on the back of the neck had me sold. This was, without a doubt, my favorite of the bunch.

Next, I threw on the more structured floral dress. It fit well, ran true to size and I can see it being a hit for more mature woman. The waist band was a good width and the skirt had just enough volume. Not really my style per say, but definitely a well executed dress.

The next two had one common problem: too long. Both dresses fit well for the shape they were intended to be (more casual, tunic-like dresses), however they both hit in the middle of the knee. Now like I said, I am pretty tall, on a girl 5'5 or below I can imagine these dresses being mid-calf, which for a sun dress with little volume seems far too long. The length could have been good for an older customer, but the prints were the youngest looking of them all.

I left the fitting room feeling pretty good. 2 out of 4 isn't too shabby. There is a ton of other Liberty print stuff flying around Target- bedding, stationary, gardening tools, even a bike (that I had to tear myself away from)- all of which is super cute and helps to get you in the mood for spring, even on a rainy day like today.

I just checked out this collection over the weekend (also in dismal weather) and was so tempted to buy the watering can. I don't even own a garden. Love these prints.

I bought that 'more structured floral dress'. It does, indeed, fit true to size. At 33, I certainly don't pass for mature, but I think it works on me, whereas the peacock maxi didn't work on me at all.
